Frontiers in Resource and Rural Economics: Human-Nature, Rural-Urban In-terdependencies

Like almost all collections of papers this book lacks consistency and the connections among the various chapters are uneven. The papers are largely based upon a conference held in honor of Emery Castle, who has made major contributions to both rural development and resource/environmental economics over his professional career, and this largely explains the two main themes found in the book. But while the various papers have interesting things to say about rural economics and about resource/environmental economics, only a few make a strong connection between the topics.
