The intention of the editors is to present a range of different disciplinary perspectives on endogenous regional development (ERD), from a variety of scholars, plus discussions on how endogeneity can best be measured, conceptualized, and modeled at different spatial scales. The book's origins are the international workshop on "Regional Endogenous Development: Measurement, Models and Empirical Investigation" held at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia in 2008.
