Catalytic performance for oxidative coupling of methane over Eu_2O_3 catalysts promoted by alkaline earth flourides

The catalytic performance of oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) over Eu_2O_3 cata- lysts promoted by alkaline earth fluorides was studied. The results showed that C_2 hydrocarbon se- lectivity and yield over the fluoride-promoted Eu_2O_3 catalysts were apparently higher than those over pure Eu_2O_3; the OCM performance increased according to the sequence of CaF_2-Eu_2O_3≈ BaF_2-Eu_2O_3＜SrF_2-Eu_2O_3 under the same conditions.
