The present disclosure discloses an alkaline earth metal catalyst supported on a perovskite support and a method for oxidative dimerization of methane using the same. The perovskite structure has a formula of ABO 3 , wherein A is any one selected from Ca, Sr, Ba and Mg, and B is Ti. The catalyst has the effect of providing a high C 2+ hydrocarbon yield by greatly improving the conversion rate of methane and the selectivity of the C 2+ hydrocarbon compound even when the oxidation dimerization reaction of methane is carried out at a temperature of 700 ° C. or less.
