I AM happy to report this year that the transition from the WriteTrack manuscript management system to the ScholarOne system is now complete. All of the manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Propulsion and Power (JPP) are now being handled in the ScholarOne system, and the editorial staff no longer has to juggle simultaneously between two different manuscript management systems. Here are some statistics. Between the period of 1 October 2010 and 30 September 2011,324 manuscripts were submitted to the JPP. Of these, 61% of the submitting authors were from countries other than the United States, up from 56% in 2010. Of the submissions from outside the United States, 43% were from the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, or Japan. During the same period, final decisions were made on 228 manuscripts. Of these, 115, or 50%, of the manuscripts were accepted for publication, and the rest were declined or withdrawn.
