This work considers the calibration of Jackson et al.'s recent agglomeration model A. The goal was to bring new information for calibrating the used-prescribed separation parameter S_d. Four industrial propellants are considered and packed using classical packing algorithms. The agglomeration model is then used, and an optimization is performed to calibrate a best-fit S_d. The obtained agglomeration mean diameter and distribution from the model are found to be rather close to the experimental data. The experimental data used were carefully selected, and a refined data-reduction procedure was proposed, which included log-normal mode extraction and combustion correction. The results indicate that S_d can be assumed to equal the aluminum mean diameter. Further studies will be needed to derive a general expression for S_d, which includes an explicit dependence on pressure and ammonium perchlorate size.
