摘要

A method of producing nearly monodisperse electrospray using charged capillary standing waves is investigated.nThe method, based on the ultrasonically aided electrospray concept, extracts charged particles from a liquid film withninduced capillary standing waves at the critical stable condition by applying an electric field. Theoretical analysis onnthe formation of the charged particles is performed. An experimental ultrasonically aided electrospray system isndesigned and built to characterize the system operation and the resulting electrospray. The electrosprayncharacterization includes Mie scattering and witness plate analysis.Amodeof operation is found, in which the electricnfield dominates the electrospray production. The particle size and variation reduce with the applied electric field.
