Carving a Capstone: Senior Design at the University of Delaware

In creating and continuing to develop Senior Design as a capstone course, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Delaware has affirmed its commitment to a unique educational experience that builds upon and applies fundamental instruction of the department's curriculum toward the integrated execution of a large, complex project. Through the use of teamwork, multiple disciplines, multiple roles, and a real project, with a persistent emphasis on communication and professional issues, the course challenges each senior student with an introduction to the demands, constraints, and opportunities of the working world.
