摘要

A conventional tubing-deployed electrical submersible pump (ESP) was initially chosen as the artificial-lift method for the Yme field, offshore Norway. Two years of operational experience proved that the method did not meet original design criteria regarding prevention of fluid loss to the formation during workovers and access to the reservoir with wireline/coiled tubing (CT). In addition, the average ESP life was much less than the target run life.
