Sodium diethyldialkynylaluminate (SDAA) is a good alternative alkynylating agent which exhibits good chemoselectivity in the presence of other functional groups such as halide, epoxide, ester, amide, and nitrile and an excellent regioselectivity in the reaction with α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds.
