摘要

We thank Dr. Stinnette for his interest. We found no evidence of adverse side effects, such as anemia and liver or respiratory failure, related to the nitrofurazone impregnation of the silicone catheter. This is in accordance with Marion-Landais and colleagues' (1) finding that nitrofurazone is not absorbed to the surrounding tissue or systemically. Furthermore, the observed adverse events in the study were found to be unrelated to the nitrofurazone impregnation and were more likely related to catheterization.
