HistoryHinesburg is a rural community located just south of Burlington in Chittenden County in northwestern Vermont. The town of approximately 4,500 people once was home to several dairy farms and a cheese factory, but today maintains a busy village center surrounded by rural landscape and natural areas. The town's job opportunities are supported by a small industrial base including a sawmill, creamery and a brewery, as well as one of the largest high schools in Vermont, but most residents travel outside of Hinesburg for work. The town is increasingly becoming a bedroom community for the Burlington area, however, also attracting commercial and industrial development interest as well.
