The Carnegie-NYU-Rochester Conference on Public Policy is now soliciting papers for a conference on "Fiscal and Monetary Policy in the Presence of Debt Crises." This Conference will be held at New York University on April 19-20, 2013. The papers and comments are slated for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Monetary Economics in January 2014. The standard analysis of fiscal and monetary policy - and the positive and normative implications for economic stabilization - commonly neglects the role of sovereign debt.
