Proceedings of the international conference on optical and optoelectronic properties of materials and applications (ICOOPMA 2006)

The first inaugural International Conference on Optical and Optoelectronic Properties of Materials and Applications (ICOOPMA2006) was held at the Charles Darwin University, Darwin, Australia. The objective of ICOOPMA2006 was to be an international forum of scientists and engineers to cover a wide range of materials and applications in optics, optoelectronics and photonics. ICOOPMA2006 had attracted about 140 researchers from all over the world. It was therefore necessary to hold two parallel sessions for 2 days of the conference to cover a very wide range of optoelectronic materials, from photovoltaic to display materials, with over 40 invited papers. The conference was preceded by a short workshop on the optical and optoelectronic properties of materials for the participating graduate students. The conference was very successful in fulfilling its objective of bringing together researchers in this field from all over the world to exchange new ideas, and present their results in a congenial atmosphere and at an attractive location that entices people to visit.
