Some Experimental Results of Mechanoluminiscence Induced by Laser

摘要

In this paper the mechanoluminiscence induced on the back face of metallic target irradiated by the laser pulses is investigated. The experiments were performed with a Nd:YAG laser: λ = 1.06 μm, E_v ≤ 15 J, τ_v ≈ 3 ms (FWHM), Φ_s= 0.3/1.3 mm, v_(revet) < 20Hz. The targets were cut from steel (21KrMoV57), cooper, aluminium and titanium, 1/2 mm - thick and 2.5 mm - diameter. The detectors were a photomultiplier in the 300/650 nm spectral domain and a photoresistor in the 800/1500 nm spectral domain. The intensity and temporal evolution of mechanoluminiscence during the laser irradiation are given. During the laser pulse irradiation on the back face of the metallic target arouse two signals: first (a short one) namely mechanoluminiscence and than a second one: thermal radiation. For mechanoluminiscence induced by laser a theoretical explanation involving acoustic waves propagation in the target material is proposed.
