Critical Review of the Consoiidated Maritime Labour Convention (2006) of the international Labour Organization: Limitations and Perspectives

Maritime labour represents the human element of shipping and as such, it deserves special attention. Maritime labour-related issues also constitute an important parameter of maritime competition. Qualitative shipping, i.e. safe shipping that is respectful of the marine environment, would not be feasible in the absence of quality work provided by competent maritime labour, enjoying decent working and living conditions aboard.
