Dear IASS Members, The overwhelming impression at the beginning of another decade is that students and younger members of the IASS are attending our symposia in ever larger numbers! At the 2019 Barcelona Symposium younger participants were a dominant presence: in the sessions, where students presented 250 papers; at the Expo where they assembled 31 pavilions in only a few hours; and during the coffee breaks. The creativity and excitement of younger participants at our symposia and their involvement in IASS have started to transform the IASS during the past few years and will be leading the IASS in new directions in the next decade.
