摘要

An experimental investigation on the effect of convergence of streamlines on the linear parameter, a, and non-linear parameter, b, for different radial flow lines and for different ratios of radii of the test section was studied in a converging permeameter. This paper presents the results of applying dimensional analysis to obtain a relationship between friction factor (f_D) and Reynolds number (R_D) for flow in porous media with converging boundaries, using volume diameter (D) as characteristic length. Using the said relationship, theoretical curves, which were similar to Moody diagram used for pipe flow an developed and verified with the help of existing experimental data. Crushed rock of size 4.73 mm was used as media and water as fluid, to develop curves relating friction factor (f_D) and Reynolds number (R_D) for different radial flow lines with different ratios of radii of the test section of permeameter. The results of experiment are useful to predict the location of well and depth of well to get more yield of water in the aquifer.
