摘要

In the present paper dielectric constant and dielectric loss of soil samples with various moisture contents has been measured at X band microwave frequency. The observed values have been compared with the values calculated by empirical models. The measured value of dielectric constant have been used for calculation of scattering coefficients with different frequencies, moisture contents, look angle and polarization. It is found that scattering coefficients depend upon moisture content, frequency, look angle and polarization and the measured values of real part of dielecrtic constant (ε′) are in good agreement with those calculated by empirical model.
