An Interview With Dr. Raj Jain, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis

Dr. Raj Jain is a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of ACM, a Fellow of AAAS, a winner of ACM SIGCOMM Test of Time award, CDAC-ACCS Foundation Award 2009 and ranks among the top 90 in Citeseer's list of Most Cited Authors in Computer Science. Dr. Jain is currently a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. Previously, he was one of the co-founders of Nayna Networks, Inc., a next-generation telecommunications systems company in San Jose, CA. He is the author of 12 books including Art of Computer Systems Performance Analysis, which received the 1991 Computer Press Association Award for Best Advance How-to Book. Dr. Jain has 14 patents, has written 16 book chapters, 65+ journal and magazine articles and 110+ conference papers. His work has been widely referenced, and he is known for his research in congestion control and avoidance, traffic modeling, performance analysis, and error analysis. Google Scholar lists more than 21,000 citations to his publications. Dr. Jain was awarded 1999 SiliconIndia Leadership Award for Excellence and Promise in Business and Technology. This interview is about the current explosion of the Internet called the Internet of Things.
