摘要

Abstract: The present study demonstrates the use of the geospatial technique for mapping of groundwater quality of Patna Urban area. The water quality data is analyzed in the geographic information system (GIS), and inverse distance weighting (IDW) method was used to draw continuous spatial surfaces. From Water Quality Index (WQI) map, it is revealed that water quality in most of the areas comes under excellent class and few of the regions showed water quality "unfit for drinking " as iron and arsenic is detected in those areas. The study suggests regular monitoring of groundwater in Patna urban area recommends proper care of areas where arsenic and iron is detected.
