Harvesting Joy in a Ross Grant Garden

When the City of Manistee Housing Commission (CMHC) in Manistee, Michigan successfully attained a Resident Opportunity Self Sufficiency (ROSS) grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Executive Director Clinton McKinven-Copus, and ROSS staff coordinators Sidney Shaw and Linda Hutchison set out to fulfill the purpose of the grant: improve the quality of life for their residents. With creativity, a little physical labor, and the help of volunteers, improve lives they did! The first major project undertaken by the CMHC was the creation of a community garden for the residents of Century Terrace and Harborview apartment complexes.
