How did you start in the affordable housing and community development field? What initially attracted you to the field, and what kept you involved in it?rnI first became involved in housing issues through a legal case in Alexandria, Virginia in the mid-80s. Over 1,000 units of housing, really one of the last neighborhoods of low-income housing in Alexandria, were going to be sold by the private owner. This meant an overwhelming number of African-Americansrnand Latinos were going to be displaced; it was clearly gen-trification.
