Bringing the adopter back into the adoption process: a personal construction framework of information technology adoption

This paper proposes an integrative theoretical framework for studying the per- sonal construction processes underlying information technology adoption. Ques- tioning simplistic assumptions of extant theory, we argue that explicit consider- ation of such processes offers better understanding of technology adoption. An exploratory study provides empirical evidence and motivates insights for future research.
