PHMSA Issues Safety Advisory on Unauthorized Compressed Gas Cylinders

On July 3, 2014, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) published a safety advisory notice in the Federal Register concerning compressed gas cylinders improperly marked as complying with the Hazardous Materials Regulations by Always Safe Fire Extinguisher and Safety, LLC (ASFES), Yonkers, New York. ASFES has never been approved by PHMSA to either requalify or mark DOT-speci-fication or special permit cylinders as being requalified.
