Possible Role of Caffeine in Autism Spectrum Disorders, a New Testable Hypothesis

In the April 2010 JFS paper "Caffeine (1, 3, 7-trimethyl-xanthine) in Foods: A Comprehensive Review on Consumption, Functionality, Safety, and Regulatory Matters", Heckman and others (2010) broadly reviewed critical issues surrounding caffeine in foods. Herein, another possible role of caffeine on autism is discussed.
