1st Issue of American Finance Found: Steve Buser, the AFA Historian, has discovered an issue of American Finance from 1942. American Finance was the first journal of the American Finance Association and was edited by Kenneth Field of the Carnegie Institute of Technology. The journal became serialized and was renamed The Journal of Finance beginning in August 1946. An article by Robert Kavesh appearing in the March 1970 Journal of Finance refers to the 1942 issue as well as a second issue in 1943. We cannot locate a copy of the 1943 American Finance.
