Unjustified Public Monopolies: The Necessity to Remain Vigilant (Luxembourg)

In January 2015, the Luxembourg Competition Council laid to rest a procedure against Luxembourg City. The member of the Competition Council in charge of the case investigation came to a provisional conclusion that Luxembourg City had unjustly attributed a monopoly to itself on the market for the transportation of human bodies on its territory, an exclusivity that is 'against the spirit that underpins the EU competition policy'.
