"Work-Life-Balance" is a key word of our days. In this context, working time policies are often attributed an important role. This article examines the new, collec- tively agreed "leisure option" (Freizeitoption). A workers' council survey will give insights on extent and structure of usage. It will be argued, that usage is broadly diversified and that the leisure option has some pros in the sense of longterm working time accounts. Practical Relevance In this article we give insights on questions concerning acceptance and utilisation as well as corresponding problems of the so called "leisure option" (Freizeitoption) within the electro- and electronics industry. Such information is undoubtedly an important basis for the next round of collective bargaining.%„Work-Life-Balance" ist ein Schlagwort unserer Zeit. Arbeitszeitpolitik wird in diesem Zusammenhang oft eine wichtige Rolle attestiert. Dieser Beitrag behandelt die neue, kollektivvertragliche „Freizeitoption". Auf Basis einer Betriebsratsbefragung werden Einblicke in Umfang und Struktur der Inanspruchnahme gewährt. Es zeigt sich, dass das Interesse breit gefächert ist und die Freizeitoption als langfristiges Arbeitszeitkonto durchaus gewisse Vorteile mit sich bringt. Praktische Relevanz Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt Einsichten bezüglich Akzeptanz, Inanspruchnahme und Probleme im Zuge der Umsetzung der sogenannten „Freizeitoption" innerhalb der Elektro- und Elektronikindustrie. Für die kommenden Kollektivvertragsverhandlungen stellen derartige Informationen fraglos eine wichtige Grundlage dar.
