摘要

In the present study an environmental analysis and monetary estimation have been performed, based on the recovery of riparian vegetation as an ecological corridor along the river banks of the agricultural countryside of Cordoba (Andalucia, south of Spain), being proposed its recovery within the five meters of public dominion which current Law delimits on each side of the river banks. This natural area represents a completely altered and deforested agricultural landscape, where almost no natural vegetation, flora and wild fauna were found. Its smooth relief, clay fertile soils and Mediterranean-continental climate, orient the exploitation towards dry cultivations such as wheat or sunflowers, which occupy large areas. The design has been carried out by using Geographical Information Systems (GIS), aerial photographs, thematic maps and field works. The environmental impact has been evaluated through the Leopold matrix method, with positive results. Along the simulated green corridor the 31.16(24 %) ha of existing natural vegetation were quantified. The total area to be restored is 99.47 ha (76 %) and would have an estimated cost of 351 972 Euro.
