DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE Ge|oDist SOFTWARE. CONTRIBUTION TO THE DISTINCTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS

This work presents the design considerations and the development of educational software, namely Ge|oDist (greenhouse effect-ozone depletion distinction). On the basis of high-school students misconceptions that are reported in literature, Ge|oDist attempts to elaborate two cognitive obstacles that derive from them, and hinders the distinction of the greenhouse effect and the ozone depletion. The Ge|oDist, by combining the obstacles with the educational aims, constitutes a proposal for the materialisation of the tool of dynamic network of aim-obstacle. The first pilot evaluation of the Ge|oDist that was conducted in real school classroom conditions from students and teachers, revealed the potentiality of its use. This process is open to future repetitions towards Ge|oDist further evolution.
