PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reflect use of recycled paper, etc., in an image forming apparatus in evaluation of environmental contribution and to promote positive use of recycled paper, etc. PSOLUTION: Type of paper (recycled or reused paper) for carrying out image formation is sorted by discriminating information given on the paper in the the image forming apparatus 200. Use information indicating the state of use of the paper sorted by type is produced and transmitted to environmental contribution evaluating apparatus 100 through a communication network 10 in the image forming apparatus 200. Furthermore, the discriminating information is given to the paper when printing is carried out in the image forming apparatus 200. Environmental points indicating the degree of environmental contribution in the image forming apparatus 200 is calculated based on the use information received from the image forming apparatus 200 in the environmental contribution evaluating apparatus 100. Moreover, specified service according to the calculated environmental points is provided to a user of the image forming apparatus 200 by the environmental contribution evaluating apparatus 100.
