Leveraging Audio Skills, Yamaha Cultivates Home Theater Market

Yamaha Corp., known in the past chiefly for its audio products, has recently added video-related products to its lineup. These include front projectors and plasma display panel (PDP) monitors. Using its strength in the audio arena as a foundation, Yamaha now offers home theater products supported by proven sound and imaging technologies. At the 2004 Consumer Electronics Show (CES2004) in January, Yamaha will be introducing a projector and a PDP in addition to such mainstay products as audio-video (A/V) receivers, amplifiers and speakers. This year Yamaha will also introduce products using wireless network technology. These will be applied in the home theater systems the company introduced at CES2003. Hideo Sugimori, Product Manager, Sales & Marketing Division, AV & IT Business Group of Yamaha described the company's product lineup for 2004.
