FORMER JED WASHINGTON EDITOR PASSES AWAY

It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of Kernan Chaisson, who was JED's Washington Editor for many years. Kernan served nearly 24 years in the US Air Force, retiring as a captain in 1985. He was a radar technician and Electronics Officer and finished his military career at Nellis AFB, NV, where he headed Ground Threat Analysis for the combat training exercises and was Chief of Communications Engineering for the Range Group. After retiring, Kernan became a senior electronics analyst for Janes' Information Group, assisting in writing and producing five editions of the Jane's Radar and Electronic Warfare Yearbook, as well as several other Jane's publications. After Forecast International acquired the DMS division from Jane's in 1990, he became the Forecast International's Washington Editor covering the Pentagon, Capitol Hill and the White House. In 1998, Kernan became the Washington Editor for JED. After hanging up his hat as a reporter in 2010, he began to write book reviews for JED. Kernan Chaisson passed away on December 19.
