JED lost a member of its family last month. Glenn Goodman, Jr., passed away March 9 after a long battle with cancer. Glenn was born in Shanghai, China in 1948 and moved around frequently as his father was posted to military bases in the US and abroad during the first decades of the Cold War. Glenn attended the US Military Academy at West Point and then served in the US Army from 1970-1975. Glenn earned his doctorate in International Relations and Defense Studies from Claremont Graduate School and worked in the defense industry for several years after his military service. Later, he embarked on a journalism career and became one of the most well known and respected defense journalists in the industry.
