Guest Editorial:rnTeaching for the Future, Not the Past

In this Guest Editorial, Ed Cortez, incoming chair of the American Library Associationrn(ALA), Committee on Education, and former director of the School of Information Sciences,rnUniversity of Tennessee from 2005 to 2015 outlines his vision for the future ofrnLIS education. He makes particular note of the mismatch between current accreditationrnstandards (which focus on work done in libraries) and the work of the rapidly evolvingrninformation sector (most of which is done outside libraries).
