EFFECT OF PLANT EXTRACT (NICOTINE) ON DROSOPHILA MELANOGASTER

摘要

Laboratory experiments were conducted using tobacco leaves to study the effect on mutant form (Yellow) of Drosophila melanogastar. It has been estimated that LC50 as 2.9552μl/100 ml food is the threshold of lethality. These studies have also revealed that Nicotine is toxic as it had a pronounced effect on the rate of development and viability.
