摘要

This research work deals with the study of physico-chemical and biological parameters of sago waslewater collected from inlet (untreated) and outlet (biomethanated) of biogas plants from three different sized industries. The untreated wastewater was found to be highly organic with acidic nature, possessing a serious threat to the environment if not properly treated. Although a reduction in organic Content and a near neutral pH was achieved in the biogas plants, the waslewater still possesses BOD, COD and TS content higher than the permissible limits stipulated by TNPCB and could not be permitted for direct disposal to land and water bodies, which calls for regulation in the discharge of waste generated.
