Global migration flows may have slowed during the recent economic crisis but research on immigration has not. Andres Solimano adds to a burgeoning literature a highly readable book on the motivations for international migration and the consequences for both sending and receiving countries. As its title suggests, International Migration in the Age of Crisis and Globalization examines immigration in a broader economic and political context. Part of the book uses Latin America as a case study, but it discusses themes that apply around the world.
