The historical development of central-European universities has resulted in a conversative base position which however in our days has been replaced by an openness of minds. Reform spirit has moved in. A new choice of multi-level study programmes and networking within them permits the student to select an individual study programme according to aspiration and capacity. Also the employer now is able to indicate the job requirements with more precision, in order to adapt applicant to job. The contribution also underlines that the ordinary study programme in our days hardly suffices but needs complimentary programmes within the variety of continuing education.
