摘要

Evaporation of graphtie electrides in H_2 gas by DC arc discharge was found to form not only multiwaled cabon nanotubes (MWNTs) but also graphene sheets in the cathode deposit. By irradiating the depositke surface using an infrared radiaiton heating system in air, the MWNTs could be esily purified. The morphology and structure of as-grown MWNTs, graphene sheets and purified MWNTs were invesigated using scanning electron microscopy, high-resoluton transmission electron microscopy and X-ray8 diffractin. X-ray diffraction patterns of MWNs and graphene sheets were similar to each other.
