Gendered Lives. Gender Inequalities in Production and Reproduction

'How are gendered lives changing?' (1) is the question the editors Jacqueline Scott, Shirley Dex and Anke C. Plagnol, together with Heather Joshi as contributor, pose in the opening of Gendered Lives: Gender Inequalities in Production and Reproduction, a series of eight essays examining how contemporary Australasia, Europe and North America are attempting to make progress away from the traditional gender role division between men's production in the world of paid work and women's unpaid work in the private, domestic sphere. The collection does, however, venture much further than this, in order to consider how even more change towards gender equality could be achieved in the future.
