摘要

At a time when English-speaking scholarship is pinpointing the directions of worldwide research and, furthermore, where there seems to be little space for researchers publishing in other languages, a book that is able to challenge this is well appreciated. Ana Cristina Santos engages with social movements and sexual citizenship in southern Europe, focusing especially on Portugal and referencing authors who we would otherwise rarely see in publications in the English language. She positions her work not only as academic but also as political, engaging in 'scholar-activism' and breaking the boundaries between academia and activism through both her academic and activist engagement.
