摘要

Background: Parents play a central role in the lives of their children. Parent-child interaction is a central variable in the etiology of antisocial behaviour. Research suggests that families of antisocial individuals are characterized by harsh and inconsistent discipline, little positive parental involvement and poor monitoring and supervision. Thus parents could create environments for unhealthy parent-child relationships with subsequent antisocial behaviour of their adolescents. Aim of the study is to systematically appraise studies which seek to examine the link between antisocial behaviour of adolescents and parental practices to manage the antisocial behaviour of their adolescents. Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted to extract information regarding the topic. Ebscohost (Medline, CINAHL, PsycArticles), JSTOR and Pubmed for the period of 2003-2014. Two reviewers independently evaluated the methodological quality of the studies reviewed. Data was be extracted independently by two reviewers using the 'JBI data extraction tool'. The findings are summarized in narrative form. Results: Eight studies were eligible for inclusion in this study. The majority of studies were longitudinal and included a study in Taiwan, New Zealand and the remainder in the USA. Parenting, in relation to antisocial behaviour of adolescents, was examined both genetically and environmentally. Parenting practices have an effect on the antisocial behaviour of adolescents. These parenting practices may also be transferred across generations. In particular, harsh, inconsistent parenting as well as low attachment levels between parent and adolescent, low parental control, low monitoring and low guidance all encouraged antisocial behaviour of adolescents and in some studies into young adulthood. Conclusion: Positive and consistent parenting, father involvement and good parental role models reduced antisocial behaviour of adolescents.
