摘要

A Japanese program for the development of coherent Dopp1er Lidar from space was started by the CRL from FY 1997 under the support of the Phase II Studies of NASDA' Ground Research Announcement. The objective of the program is to carry out a feasibility study on coherent Dopp1er lidar to be installed in the Japanese Exposed Module (JEM), part of the International Space Station (ISS). The ISS/JEM-borne coherent Doppler lidar device is expected to measure tropospheric line-of sight (LOS) winds from space to an accuracy to 1-2 m/s with a vertical resolution of about 1 km and a horizontal resolution of 100 km x 100 km.
