Abstract Bis-(N,N′-dibenzylethane-1,2-diamine) cobalt(II) acetate has been synthesized and the crystal structure determined. The compound crystallizes in the space group P21/c, a = 8.3212(6) Å, b = 11.8774(8) Å, c = 17.3643(12) Å, β = 98.1850(10)°, V = 1698.7(2) Å3, Z = 2. The complex occupies a crystallographic inversion center. The cobalt is in a distorted octahedral environment likely due to steric influences of the acetate groups.
