We are sorry to report that Professor Bernard Hodgson, Section Editor for Philosophical Foundations of Business Ethics and our close friend for over 30 years passed away on April 25, 2009. As Dickens said of Scrooge at the end of his Christmas Carol, Bernie was as good a man and as good a friend of all mankind as anyone had ever seen. In the early 1970s, Bernie and I shared an office at the University of Guelph. We learned very early that we shared many things besides that little room, including our commitment to a life of scholarship and political activism. Besides being a dependable editor, and a thoughtful assessor of other people's work, Bernie was a fine scholar. His main work on Economics as Moral Science is a gem of philosophic analysis of neo-classical economics.
