摘要

Creative Confidence is a collaborative project of the Kelley brothers: David, founder of the highly influential design firm IDEO and Stanford University's d.school; and Tom, a partner at IDEO and currently an executive fellow at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. Designed as a practical toolkit to help people develop creative confidence, the book includes ideas and activities that help readers to apply design thinking and processes into their personal development and professional lives. The book primarily draws on anecdotes to illustrate how others have successfully developed creative confidence, while providing an insider's view of their respective organizations. The work is timely; as the authors suggest, "creative endeavors that seemed fanciful or extracurricular a decade ago have now gone mainstream." (p. 7) This trend is clearly seen in the increasing importance of design thinking in academic entrepreneurship programs, as well as in driving innovation in the library profession. This work provides a quick and easy introduction to developing the creative confidence in "intrapraneurial" clients, entrepreneurial students in any academic discipline and business librarians who work with them.
