Labor Union and Economic Growth - The Evidence from Labor Market in Korea

摘要

The main purpose of this paper is to show the relationship between economic growth and unionization through empirical research and whether fluctuations in the growth of GDP can be tied to changes in the number of union labors. To this end, a set of models is built to see the relationship in both the short run and the long run by adopting data (1980-2002) from Korea. This study finds labor union does not significantly affect the GDP growth in Korea in either the short run or the long run.
