摘要

College administrators and high school guidance counselors surveyed by US News and World Report rate the academic reputation of religiously affiliated liberal arts colleges lower than non-affiliated colleges. Controlling for college specific academic characteristics, I find that colleges affiliated with the American Baptists, Baptists, the Disciples of Christ, the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, the Christian and Missionary Alliance, the Church of the Brethren, the Mennonite Church USA, Methodists, Moravians, Presbyterians, the Reformed Church in America, the Roman Catholics Church, the United Church of Christ, and the Wesleyan Church receive lower academic reputation scores than non-religious affiliated institutions. Quaker affiliated colleges receive higher academic reputation scores than non-religious affiliated institutions.
